Our Story

Connecting Our Community Through Basketball

The Noosa District Basketball Association (NDBA) is a not-for-profit organisation serving the Noosa region, with over 850 members across 100+ teams, including juniors, senior men’s and women’s competitions, and inclusion teams. Our players come from a wide area, including Greater Noosa, the coastal region and the Hinterland.

Founded in August 1992 by Norman Elsom, the club applied for incorporation with the Queensland Department of Justice, proposing names like Noosa District Basketball Association, Tewantin Basketball Association, and Noosa/Tewantin Basketball Association. The first name was chosen, and by early 1993, the NDBA began playing at the Noosa Leisure Centre, our home to this day. Over the past 30 years, thousands of players, officials, coaches and parents have represented the Noosa Cyclones.

Our club fosters an inclusive, supportive environment where athletes of all ages and abilities can thrive. We believe basketball can inspire and transform lives, and we are dedicated to the growth of both our members and volunteers.
